Common questions

What is Cyber Essentials?

Cyber Essentials is a UK government-backed scheme covering five basic technical controls: firewalls, secure configuration, user access control, malware protection and keeping software up to date. Certification shows customers you have the basics covered.

Do small businesses really get targeted?

Yes. Most attacks aren’t personal. They’re automated phishing emails and password attacks sent to thousands of businesses at once, which is why basics like two-step login and updates make such a difference.

How long does Cyber Essentials take?

It depends on how closely your systems already meet the five controls. After the security review we’ll tell you exactly what needs doing, and most of the work can be done remotely without disrupting your team.
